“Are You a Psychologist or a Lawyer?”

Nope. I’m in sales.

(But I totally understand why you’d ask.)

For most of my adult life, people have assumed I must be either a psychologist or a lawyer. I ask deep questions. I remember the details most people miss. I listen for what’s not being said. I push when I sense a misalignment-and I don't shy away from uncomfortable truths.

But instead of the courtroom or the couch, I chose the boardroom. I became a sales professional.

And not just any kind of sales. I work where performance pressure is high, human dynamics are complex, and results are non-negotiable. In that world, understanding people is the edge. And over the years, I’ve learned something powerful:

The most successful people in business often carry silent trauma responses that made them exceptionally good at their jobs—and quietly exhausted by them, too.

🎯 I’ve Spent 20+ Years Studying Both: Sales Excellence & Emotional Resilience

While building a successful career in sales, I was also investing deeply in something many professionals overlook: My mental and emotional well-being.

Over the last 20 years, I’ve been in therapy. I've studied psychology, leadership dynamics, trauma, stress cycles, and nervous system regulation, all while closing deals. Not because I had to-but because I wanted to understand why people succeed the way they do, and why they break the way they do, too.

And what I’ve found is this: Many of our greatest "strengths"--relentless drive, perfectionism, hyper-independence, people-pleasing--are actually coping strategies. They’re responses to past experiences, early environments, and internal narratives that were never rewritten.

🧠 Companies Reward the Wound—Until It Breaks Down

In my experience, organizations often unknowingly reward trauma-based behaviors:

  • Overachieving gets a promotion

  • Never saying “no” gets labeled “team player”

  • Workaholism is mistaken for “dedication”

  • Emotional detachment becomes “professionalism”

But these behaviors come at a cost: burnout, disengagement, turnover, and lost sales potential. I’ve worked with--and been--one of those high-performing individuals who looked invincible… until the system collapsed.

❤️ Now I Help Leaders Sell, Perform, and Thrive--Without Burning Out

Today, I bring a unique blend of:

  • Sales strategy expertise

  • Emotional intelligence

  • Trauma-informed leadership thinking

  • And real, human understanding

I help teams and individuals:

  • Identify patterns that drive success and stress

  • Rewire their workflows to be more human and sustainable

  • Create performance without self-destruction

I believe sales and marketing excellence can be powerful and psychologically healthy--you don’t have to choose between revenue and wellness.

⚡The Truth?

Yes, I probably would have made a good psychologist.

And yes, I’d probably dominate in court.

But sales gave me the best of both:

A place where insight meets influence.

Where empathy drives results.

And where being allowed to be deeply human, is the greatest competitive advantage of all.
